Peter was converted to Christ in 1990, coming from a background of hedonistic surf culture, drug-taking and travel. In 1996 he entered the ministry, starting a church in Maroubra,Sydney. In 1998 he was asked to assume the pastorate of an established congregation in Kogarah, Sydney.
After pastoring in the Sydney region for seven years, he left a thriving and healthy church to head overseas.
Pastor Staples, his wife Adelina & three young children, went as missionaries to Chennai, South India.
After training up a local pastor to take over the work, he returned to pastor the church in Newcastle, NSW.
Now in his 23rd year of ministry, having celebrated 28 years of marriage, with three adult children, a son-in-law and new grandson, Pastor Staples has a wealth of experience and insight into the word of God. With many remarkable testimonies, both as a pastor and personally, he has the capability to apply the teachings of the Bible in a practical, down to earth manner. His aim now is to help people to find hope and their destiny in God.
